Meoded Lime Wash – Natural Matte Mineral Paint for elegant wall finishes

General Use

Check the color before use. Stir the lime paint well before and during application.

Application techniques vary between interior and exterior.

For exterior applications, lime paint must be completely dry before exposing to rain or cold.

Do not apply lime paint at temperatures below 13°C (55°F), in excessive heat above 29°C (85°F) or in direct sunlight.

Surface Preparation

The surface must be clean and free from loose or flaking particles, dirt, mildew, oil, grease, chalk and efflorescence.

Previously glossy surfaces should be sanded, cleaned and primed with a multi-purpose primer before applying the base coat of lime paint.

For interior applications, two coats of Meoded Lime Wash Base Coat are recommended.

New exterior surfaces, such as cement-based renders, should be allowed to dry for at least 21 days.

Lightly dampen porous surfaces with clean water before application (not required on previously painted or primed surfaces).

Interior Application

First layer

Apply the first coat of lime wash paint with a Meoded Lime Wash brush using crisscross or multi-directional strokes.

Always maintain a wet edge during application.

Lime paint will dry lighter, like a plaster, and will leave a drying mark if left to partially dry.

Let dry for at least 8 hours.

Second layer

Apply the second coat in the same way as the first.

If a more uniform finish is desired, apply a third coat.

Exterior Application

For porous surfaces such as brick, cement or stucco, it is recommended to dilute the first coat of lime paint with 10% water.

Apply the first coat using a Meoded Lime Wash brush.

Once the first coat is dry, lightly dampen it with a clean sponge and water, avoiding excess water which could stain the product.

The surface should appear slightly darker, without being wet, before applying the second coat.

Apply the second coat in the same way as the first.

Drying and Hardening

Lime is a natural product that hardens over time.

To speed up hardening and create a patina effect, let the final coat dry for 8 to 12 hours, then lightly spray the surface with water or dampen it with a sponge, avoiding drips.

Repeat this process until you achieve the desired effect.

For exterior applications, it is recommended to allow the surface to dry for at least 7 days before exposing it to rain or extreme cold temperatures.

Sealant

After a minimum drying time of 48 hours, it is recommended to protect the finish with 2 to 3 coats of Meoded Stain Shield natural effect sealer to make the surface more water resistant.

1️⃣Prepare the surface: Make sure it is clean, dry and primed with a primer compatible with mineral paints.
2️⃣Application: Apply with aspecial brush for lime wash, a sponge or a rollerin light, irregular layers to create a natural effect.
3️⃣Overlay: Add multiple layers to intensify texture and depth.
4️⃣Drying: Let dry6 to 8 hoursbetween each layer. The paint reaches its final effect after7 to 10 daysof complete hardening.

5. How to maintain a wall painted with Meoded Lime Wash?

Maintenance is simple:

✔In case of stain, use a damp cloth without abrasive products.
