Osmo - Deco Wax

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

The Wood Wax Finish is ready to use without dilution. Before use, it is important to shake the product well.

For transparent colors (1 coat), carefully apply a thin coat to the clean, dry wood surface using a firm brush (Osmo brush) or Osmo microfiber roller. If you want a lighter shade, you can also apply a thin coat to the entire surface using a lint-free cloth and rub for 20 minutes. Allow to dry with good ventilation.

For intense colours (2 coats), apply a thin coat in the direction of the wood grain to a clean, dry wood surface using a firm brush (Osmo Brush) or Osmo Microfiber Roller. Allow to dry with good ventilation, then apply a second, equally thin coat. For floors, we always recommend applying a final coat of Osmo Colorless Polyx Oil.

Please note that we generally advise against intense stains (two coats) for floors due to the risk of over-application.

Application method according to the tool

By hand using a lint-free cloth

Transparent Effect (1-layer):Apply a thin layer using a lint-free cloth.

1. Apply the product thinly and evenly to the wood with a cloth.
2. For a fuller color, make sure the product is applied evenly, then proceed to step 5.
3. For a subtle effect: Allow about 15 minutes for the oil to penetrate the wood, then proceed to step 4
4. Work along the grain, removing any excess product from the surface with a clean, lint-free cloth.
5. Let dry for 8-10 hours. Ensure good ventilation while drying
6. For floors, a protective coat of Polyx® 3054 Oil is necessary to provide added durability against wear and stains.

Intense Effect (2 layers):Apply two thin coats using a lint-free cloth.

1. Once the first coat is dry (8-10 hours), apply a second thin coat to achieve a full color.
2. Let dry for 8-10 hours. Ensure good ventilation while drying.
3. Two coats are not recommended for high traffic surfaces such as floors.

By hand using a floor brush

Apply two thin coats with a natural bristle Osmo brush for small areas.

1. Apply a thin coat using a brush following the wood grain on a clean, dry surface.
2. For a subtle varnish effect, apply a thin coat using a cloth, then remove excess product within 20 minutes.
3. Let dry for 8-10 hours. Ensure good ventilation while drying.
4. Apply the second coat following the previous steps.
5. Clean the brush using Osmo Cleaner & Thinner (benzene-free) or turpentine.

WARNING :Fabrics saturated with product present a risk of spontaneous combustion and should be left unfolded until dry, before being discarded or, preferably, stored in a fire-resistant container.

By hand with a floor roller

Apply two thin coats with the Osmo Microfiber Floor Roller.

1. Stir the Deco Wax well and pour it into a container.
2. Take the microfiber roller and roll it well on the tray grid.
3. Apply a very thin, even coat with a roller, following the direction of the wood grain.
4. Let dry for 8-10 hours. Ensure good ventilation while drying.
5. For floors, a top coat of Polyx® 3054 Oil is required for added durability against wear and stains.
6. Clean the roller using Osmo Cleaner & Thinner (benzene-free) or turpentine

Advice :The Microfiber Roller should only be lightly saturated. A lightly saturated roller will allow the user to cover approximately 43-53 sq. ft. (4-5 m²) of floor. Please note that Osmo Deco Wax has a high coverage (see product label). Excess product and roller marks should be removed immediately.

Mechanically with a floor buffer

Apply a thin coat using the Osmo FloorxCenter or a floor polisher.

1. Mix the Deco Wax well before use.
2. Apply a thin layer of the product to the floor using an Osmo double-bladed trowel or similar tool.
3. Saturate and polish the floor using a buffer equipped with white pads.
4. If you can see rings forming on the surface, there is too much material on the surface. Invert the pad to absorb the excess.
5. Let dry for 8-10 hours. Ensure good ventilation while drying
6. In order to protect the color pigments, a coat of colorless Polyx® Oil is necessary as a finishing coat.

Coloring:Osmo Deco Wax can also be used to lightly tint Polyx® 3054 Oil up to a 10:1 ratio. Do not exceed a ratio of 10 parts Polyx® 3054 Oil to 1 part Deco Wax.

CLEANING TOOLS

With Osmo Cleaner and Thinner (benzene-free).

DRYING

Approx. 24 hours (standard atmosphere, 23°C/50% RH). Ventilate well. At low temperatures and/or high humidity the drying time is longer.

ADVICE

Oils help to enhance the natural color of wood, giving it a permanent wet look. However, over-application or lack of adequate ventilation can result in longer drying times and the development of a characteristic oil odor.

For dark and rich woods (such as Wenge, Mahogany, Merbau, etc.) it is recommended to use Osmo Extra Liquid Deco Wax. It is important to note that, inside the cabinets and drawers, only one very thin coat should be applied with a cloth. It is advisable to choose a shade equivalent to the natural color of the wood or slightly darker (perform an application test).
