SURFACE PREPARATION

None

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Using a brush, roller or microfiber cloth

1. Mix the product vigorously before starting
2. Using an Osmo brush, roller or microfiber cloth, apply the product in a thin, even layer to the wood surface
3. Let dry for 8-10 hours: make sure the space is well ventilated
4. Apply a second coat in the same manner as the first.
5. Clean brushes or rollers with Osmo Cleaner & Thinner (benzene-free) or turpentine

Noticed

After 2-3 weeks, the surface will be completely cured. Applying the product too generously and insufficient ventilation could cause a delay in drying time.

Restoration

Only one coat is needed for restoration

1. Mix the product vigorously before starting
2. Use a lint-free microfiber cloth and apply a thin layer to the surface
3. Let dry for 8-10 hours: make sure the space is well ventilated

WARNING : 

Rags saturated with product present a risk of spontaneous combustion and should be left unfolded until dry, before being disposed of or, preferably, stored in a fire-resistant container.

CLEANING TOOLS

With Osmo Cleaner/Diluent (aromatic-free).

DRYING

Allow to dry for approx. 8-10 hours under normal climate conditions (23°C/50% relative humidity) and good ventilation. At low temperatures and/or high humidity, the drying time is significantly longer.

1. What is Osmo Cutting Board Oil?

It is a clear wax oil that protects your wooden boards. It is food safe and resists water and stains well.

2. Is this oil safe for all cutting boards?

Yes, it is specially designed for wooden cutting boards and complies with DIN and EN standards for direct contact with food.

3. How to apply Osmo Cutting Board Oil?

Mix the product well, then use a brush, roller or microfiber cloth to apply a thin layer. Let dry for 8 to 10 hours in a well-ventilated area.

4. How many coats should I apply?

Two coats are recommended for optimum protection. For restoration, one coat is sufficient.

5. Do I need to prepare the surface of my board before applying the oil?

No, no preparation is necessary before application.

6. Does oil change the appearance of my cutting board?

No, the oil is transparent and preserves the natural appearance of the wood while protecting it.

7. How long does it take for the oil to dry completely?

It takes about 8-10 hours for the oil to dry under normal conditions. If the temperature is low or humidity is high, it may take longer.

8. What should I do if I spill liquid on my board treated with Osmo Oil?

No worries! Liquids like wine, beer, soda, coffee, tea, juice, milk and water will bead on the surface. Simply wipe with a cloth.

9. Is Osmo Oil durable?

Yes, it is very durable and resistant to wear, water and chemicals.

10. How to clean tools after using Osmo Oil?

Use Osmo Cleaner/Thinner (aromatic-free) to clean your brushes or rollers.

11. Are there any special precautions to take?

Yes, be careful with oil-soaked rags as they can spontaneously combust. Let them dry unfolded or store them in a fireproof container.
