Osmo - Polyx Sprayable

SURFACE PREPARATION:

The surface must be clean and dry, with a maximum humidity of 18%. It is necessary to clean or lightly sand old microporous finishes and remove old varnishes. If the surface is rough, it is recommended to sand it before application. For best results, carry out a final sanding with 180 grit sandpaper or finer. Be sure to remove all dust. As the finished surface is subject to the natural characteristics of the wood, it is advisable to carry out a preliminary application test.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Osmo Polyx® Sprayable is ready to use. Do not dilute. Shake well before use. The amount to be applied depends on the type of wood. 1st coat: approx. 20 - 40 g/m²; use a gravity feed, HVLP or vacuum gun. Drying time: touch dry after approx. 2 - 3 hours at room temperature or approx. 1 hour at 50°C; sanding possible after 6 - 8 hours or 2 - 3 hours under the same conditions. Intermediate sanding: minimum grain size 320. 2nd coat: approx. 20 - 40 g/m²; use a gravity feed, HVLP or vacuum gun. Drying time: touch dry after 2.5 hours at room temperature or approx. 1 hour at 50°C. Recoatable after 12 - 16 hours. Clean tools with a white spirit based product. This product can also be applied with a brush or cloth. Drying time may be significantly longer in humid environments or if over-applied. The surface will continue to harden for 2-3 weeks. Use a gravity-fed, low-pressure (HVLP) system, airless or air-assisted spray gun to spray.

Apply two thin coats and sand between each coat.

First layer:

Apply a thin coat, allow product to dry, then sand lightly with P320 grit or finer.

1. Spray approximately 20-40 g/m2 onto the wooden surface.
2. Remove dust after about 2 to 3 hours at 20°C or about 1 hour at room temperature of 50°C.
3. Ready to sand after 6-8 hours or 2-3 hours respectively.
4. Intermediate sand with P320 grit - a finer grit will produce a nicer shine.

Second layer:

Apply a second thin coat, let dry overnight, and the finished piece can be packaged the next day.

1. Spray approximately 20-40 g/m² onto the wooden surface.
2. Remove dust after about 2 to 3 hours at 20°C or about 1 hour at room temperature of 50°C.
3. Clean tools with Osmo Cleaner & Thinner (benzene-free).

Tip 1:

Industrial Deco Wax has the possibility of being tinted (up to 10% of the volume) using Osmo Deco Wax.

Tip 2:

Industrial Deco Wax can be used in the same way as a classic varnish, by applying it with a brush or a cloth.

Use Osmo Brush Cleaner and Thinner (benzene-free).

DRYING

Drying time: approximately 2-3 hours in normal climate conditions (23°C / 50% humidity); 1 hour at 50°C in a dryer. Sanding: approximately 6-8 hours in normal climate conditions (23°C / 50% humidity); 2-3 hours at 50°C in a dryer. Ready to use: approximately 12-16 hours in normal climate conditions (23°C / 50% humidity); 6-8 hours at 50°C in a dryer. Ensure good ventilation. Drying times may be longer in cold weather and with higher humidity levels.

NOTICED

Polyx® Sprayable clear enhances the tone and natural character of the wood (permanent wet effect). For the inside of cabinets and drawers, apply a thin layer with a cloth. For staining, Osmo Oil Stain is ideal as a first coat. For dark and tropical woods (such as wenge, merbau, jatoba), we recommend applying Osmo 2K Oil-Wax. It is advisable to do a test application. Surfaces treated with Polyx® Sprayable are easy to maintain. Remove dirt with a broom or vacuum cleaner. Mix Fluid Soap with water and clean the surface with a damp (not wet) mop. Use Special Cleaning and Care Wax to revive and clean the surface. If you want to achieve a higher level of shine, apply a thin layer of Special Cleaning and Care Wax and polish the surface after drying.

1. What is the Osmo Polyx® Sprayable?

This is a high quality oil-wax finish for professionals. It is perfect for interior woods such as stairs and furniture.

2. How to prepare the surface before using the product?

The surface must be clean, dry and free of old varnish. Sand lightly if necessary and remove all dust.

3. How to apply Osmo Polyx® Sprayable?

Shake well before use and do not add thinner. Apply with a low pressure spray gun or brush. Allow to dry between coats and sand lightly.

4. How long does it take for the product to dry?

It dries to the touch in 2-3 hours at room temperature or 1 hour at 50°C. It is ready to sand after 6-8 hours or 2-3 hours respectively.

5. Can we tint the Industrial Deco Wax?

Yes, you can add up to 10% volume of Osmo Deco Wax to tint it.

6. How to clean the tools after use?

Use Osmo Brush Cleaner & Thinner (benzene-free).

7. Does the product change the appearance of the wood?

Yes, it enhances the natural tone of the wood with a permanent wet effect.

8. How to maintain surfaces treated with Polyx® Sprayable?

Clean with a broom or vacuum cleaner. Use Osmo Fluid Soap mixed with water for damp cleaning. For added shine, use Special Cleaning and Maintenance Wax after drying.

9. Is this product suitable for children's toys?

Yes, it is saliva and sweat resistant according to DIN 53160 and EN 71.3, therefore safe for toys.

10. What if I want a finish for dark or tropical woods?

For these types of wood, it is recommended to use Osmo 2K Oil-Wax. Always do a test application first.
