SURFACE PREPARATION

Instructions for application to new wood:

• Remove all hardware or cover any hardware that cannot be removed.

• The surface must be dry and free of contaminants such as waxes, silicones, adhesives and dirt.

• Avoid using steel wool, which can leave iron particles on the wood surface.

• Repair surface defects such as holes and cracks using a quality acrylic-based wood filler tinted to match the color of the project. Wood filler must be completely dry before sanding.

• Going the extra mile when sanding will improve the aesthetics of your project. Use 120-150 grit sandpaper, sanding in the direction of the grain for best results.

• Remove all dust particles using a vacuum cleaner and a damp cloth.

• Test product on a small area to ensure proper penetration and color match.

Application methods

Apply a first coat of Sansin Purity Interior Clear using a spray, all-purpose brush or applicator pad. Be sure to spread the top coat evenly. Purity Clear has excellent leveling power; be careful not to overwork the product.

• For spray application, use a conventional air-assisted or airless sprayer, avoiding high shear pumps. Pumps can become contaminated and cause depressions in the wood relief or other surface problems. Ensure all equipment is suitable for the application of this product.

OPERATING PROCEDURES

• Test the product on a small area to verify that penetration and color are satisfactory.

• Leave to dry for 4 hours in optimum temperature and humidity conditions, i.e. between 15-20°C (60-70°F) and with less than 70% relative humidity.

• If necessary, once the surface is completely dry, lightly sand with 220-320 grit sandpaper or a fine synthetic sanding block. Always sand in the direction of the grain.

• Remove any dust using a vacuum cleaner or damp cloth.

• Apply a second coat of Sansin Purity Interior Clear.

• For extra protection or a shinier finish, apply a third coat after 24 hours.

DRYING

Allow to dry for 4 hours in optimum temperature and humidity conditions, i.e. between 15 and 20°C (60-70°F) with a relative humidity below 70%.
