Tintable bases:

To stain or color wood use Purity 0-VOC Stain, a colorant
penetrating agent that colors the wood evenly in one coat. If necessary,
or for a veil of color, add Sansin Microfine tints to Purity
Floor. The user must be particularly careful and must apply
uniform layers to avoid overlapping when the product
Purity Floor is tinted.

SURFACE PREPARATION

To apply to new wood:

• Remove any material or cover anything that cannot be removed.

• Make sure the surface is dry and free of contaminants such as wax, silicone, glue and dirt.

• Avoid using steel wool or any other object that may leave iron particles on the wood surface.

• Repair all surface defects, such as holes and cracks, using only a quality acrylic-based wood filler tinted to match the project color. Make sure the wood filler is completely dry before sanding.

• Thorough sanding will improve aesthetics. Use 120-150 grit sandpaper, always sanding in the direction of the grain for best results.

• Remove dust particles by vacuuming and wipe with a damp cloth.

• Test product on a small area to ensure adequate penetration and color.

METHOD OF APPLICATION

• Apply the first coat of Sansin Purity Floor using a lamb’s wool applicator or applicator pad. Be sure to spread it evenly, as Purity Floor spreads easily; avoid overworking the product.

• If you prefer spray application, use a conventional unit or an air-assisted unit that provides high dispersion. Be careful to avoid contamination of the pump, as this could lead to cavities or other surface problems. Ensure your equipment is suitable for this task before you begin.

PROCEDURE FOR USE

• Before proceeding, test the product on a small area to verify the desired result.

• Apply the first coat of Purity Floor (3-4 Mils or 75–100 microns) by spray, brush, pad applicator or lambswool applicator. Spread evenly and allow to dry for 4 hours.

• Next, apply a second coat of Sansin Purity Floor (3-4 Mils or 75–100 microns). Sand this coat with 320 grit sandpaper and remove the sanding dust.

• Two coats may be sufficient for adequate protection. If this is the case, sand after the first coat rather than the last.

• For added protection, apply a third coat. Allow to dry for at least 24 hours before walking on it, and allow up to 7 days for complete cure.

• For a clear, glossy finish, use only gloss formulas and sand the final coat with ultra-fine (1000 grit) sandpaper to remove shine. Test first to ensure uniformity.

DRYING

• Wait 4 hours between each coat for drying.
• It is recommended to wait at least 24 hours before walking on it and up to 7 days for complete curing.
