SURFACE PREPARATION
Osmo 2K Wood Oil requires preparation before use. Just before application, add the hardener (mix in a ratio of 100:12 by volume) and mix the two components thoroughly. Do not dilute.
The working time is about 3 to 4 hours.
Make sure the wood surface is clean, sanded, dry and frost-free (with a maximum moisture content of 20%).
Thoroughly clean old microporous stains.
Completely remove old paints, varnishes and lacquers.
Always wear a dust mask when sanding.
Fill small cracks, larger joints or holes in the wood (use Osmo Wood Filler or Osmo Wood Putty 7350).
Sand the wooden surfaces carefully.
Start with coarse sandpaper - use fine sandpaper for floors (P 120-150) and for furniture (P 220-240).
Before applying the oil to the surface, remove the sanding dust with a broom or vacuum cleaner.
The surface finish depends on several factors, including the condition of the wood.
Therefore, it is always recommended to do a test application, especially on unfamiliar surfaces.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Apply 2K Wood Oil in a thin coat using an Osmo Double Blade Trowel or in a comfortable standing position with an Osmo Professional Trowel.
On bevelled floors, apply 2K Wood Oil in thin sections using an Osmo microfibre roller, without filling the joints.
Wait about 20 to 40 minutes for the oil to penetrate the wood.
Next, buff the oil into the wood and level the surface using a single disc machine and a white or beige pad (or ideally on furniture using the Osmo Hand-X manual centre and a white pad).
Allow the surface to dry.
Note: If the disc machine leaves streaks due to excessive product, we recommend returning or replacing the pad.
To avoid pressure build-up in the container, allow the oil and hardener mixtures to react completely before closing (approximately 12 to 16 hours).
DRYING
It is recommended to let dry for approximately 24 hours under normal climate conditions (73°F/50% relative humidity) and with good ventilation.
Please note that if temperatures are low and/or humidity is high, drying time will be significantly extended.
NOTICED
2K Wood Oil can only be used with the hardener that was developed for it.
Remaining mixed product cannot be used after the pot time has expired and must be disposed of properly.
Wooden surfaces treated with 2K wood oil are easy to maintain.
Remove coarse dirt with a broom or vacuum cleaner.
For cleaning, add Osmo Cleaning and Maintenance Concentrate to the wash water and clean the surface with a damp (not wet!) cloth.
To refresh and deep clean, use Osmo Liquid Wax Cleaner if necessary.
If you want extra shine, after complete drying, apply a thin coat of Osmo Liquid Wax Cleanser and buff once dry.
